In 2023, I took on the task of revamping the layout and visual style of the import and export menu to improve usability and navigation. This redesign aimed to help users seamlessly integrate various file types from other software into the Gravity Sketch workflow. The UI kit and interaction patterns developed during the Gravity Sketch 6.0 update guided the creation of the new style, layout, and navigation.
As a product designer, I collaborated closely with the VR product team to drive the 6.0 Gravity Sketch update, marking the most substantial UI-oriented overhaul in over four years. Within this update, we introduced a fresh color palette for the UI, revamped the navigation system, redesigned the UI layout, introduced enhanced 3D icons, and incorporated multiple new creation-oriented tools.
Beyond larger projects, I played a role in smaller, one-off UI and interaction projects aimed at refining and enhancing the app's quality. These mini-projects encompassed a redesigned learn menu, updated avatar visuals, refined edge sliding interaction, and more. Throughout these endeavors, I developed hands-on skills in creating playable 3D prototypes, providing 3D design handoffs, and implementing mesh-based animations.
